In Mlango Kubwa, one of the areas of Nairobi where we operate, an official meeting of the Locational Children Advisory Committee (LCAC) was held, organized by the Mathare Department of Children’s Services.
With the support of GRT and the participation of government institutions and local NGOs, many issues affecting the lives of street children were discussed. Numerous cases of sexual abuse were addressed informally through “kangaroo courts,” and the importance of promoting community dialogues on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health was emphasized. Finally, the need for collaboration at both institutional and community levels to strengthen child protection in the area was reaffirmed.
We continue our fieldwork commitment to ensure equal rights and opportunities for all street children!

The children involved are part of the project Njia ya Nyumbani – The Way Home, implemented with the support of funds from 8xmille.it allocated to the Catholic Church.
